Neil's passion for teaching has brought him into high school english and drama classrooms at London South C.I., London Central Secondary, and St. Mary's Catholic High School Woodstock, as well as teaching in the Theatre Department at York University. 

He has taught with Original Kids Theatre Company in London, Ontario where he directed their summer camp for three years and introduced over 2500 children ages 7-17 to the theatre. Neil also taught and directed for the Toronto Youth Theatre, where he eventually served as Artistic Director from 2011 to 2013. During his time with the Toronto Youth Theatre it was named one of "Toronto's Top Ten Theatre Companies" by Blog T.O.

Neil has served on Professional Advisory Committees for both Centennial College and the Sheridan Institute of Technology, helping the to create and improve post-secondary theatre training. He currently serves as Chair of the Theatre and Drama Studies Program Committee at Sheridan College.

Neil privately coaches emerging artists in audition prep, and physical and vocal technique. His students have been accepted to top theatre schools across Canada and the United States and play leading roles, both on and off stage, in companies across the continent.

Neil teaches corporate improvisation and leadership workshops to businesses large and small ranging from 90 minute to half-day sessions. These workshops develop creative thinking skills, effective communication, and promote team building. The exercises are built upon the core values of all theatre makers: active listening, following impulses, and fostering a solution-minded attitude toward challenges.
